IMPACT

For the Zsidai family, giving back to the community has always been a core value. We are committed to supporting causes that create real, lasting impact. It is especially important to us to stand by foundations and programs that offer genuine opportunities for people in disadvantaged situations—whether through education, vocational training, job placement, or helping them regain their sense of dignity.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance at a fuller, more meaningful life, and we see it as our responsibility to help make that possible—especially for those who need it most.

International Children’s Safety Service

Ilona Zsidai has been a long-time supporter of the International Children’s Safety Service, an organization that helps disadvantaged children across Hungary. Since 2019, we have also become corporate-level supporters: the Zsidai Group joined the foundation’s Scholarship Program, through which we provide monthly support to four selected children—from the second grade of elementary school all the way through to the completion of their university studies.

You Belong! Foundation

The Van Helyed Foundation for Our Shared Future is an organization based in Ózd, dedicated to the education, development, and social integration of disadvantaged children. It has been operating since 2011. We’re proud that this year, the Zsidai Group was able to contribute to supporting the children and their future!

Bátor Tábor

Bátor Tábor offers therapeutic recreational camps for children living with cancer or chronic illnesses such as diabetes, chronic arthritis, hemophilia, or IBD. Over the years, we’ve supported the camp’s mission in various ways, and we hope to continue this meaningful collaboration for many years to come.

UNICEF Kilátó Program

Every child deserves support—but we believe there are enough challenges to address right here at home. That’s why, together with UNICEF, we looked for a program that focuses exclusively on helping children in Hungary. This led us to the Kilátó Program, which supports disadvantaged children through experience-based activities and programs.

Integrom Program

Only just over 4% of young Roma work in intellectual professions. To help improve this statistic, the Boston Consulting Group—Roy Zsidai’s former workplace—launched the Integrom Program, which aims to give Roma youth the opportunity to enter the corporate workforce. We believe that regardless of skin color, background, or religious affiliation, anyone who is talented and committed to growth and learning should have an equal chance in the professional world.

Zsidai Blood Donation

“Heroes give their blood” – says the Hungarian Red Cross’s slogan encouraging blood donation. We may not be heroes, but we truly love to help. That’s why we organize blood drives twice a year, and our colleagues are always happy to take part.

Shoebox Campaign

The Shoebox Campaign is one of the largest community donation drives in Hungary around Christmas time. The idea is simple: fill a shoebox with kindness, wrap it up, label it with whether it’s for a boy or a girl and the intended age group, then drop it off at one of the collection points.

Autistic Art

We’re deeply committed to supporting local talent and artists, while also wanting to help those in difficult situations. The perfect combination of these two goals is embodied by the Autistic Art Foundation, which works to support people living with autism through development programs, research, and dialogue. In 2019, our family purchased a painting by Dóra Maurer at the foundation’s charity auction, with the full proceeds going to support their important work.

Budavár Primary School

All four children of the Zsidai family have attended—or are currently attending—the Budavári Elementary School, as the family places great importance on supporting local communities. That’s why they strive to help the school in every way they can, providing whatever support is needed—whether it’s something big or small, like recently repainting the school’s walls.

Planting trees

Environmental protection is important to the Zsidai family, and we truly believe that caring for our surroundings must start at the local level. That’s why the family contributes through a now-traditional birthday tree planting in the Buda Castle district—helping to beautify and preserve the greenery of the area for future generations.

Havervagy Charity Programs

HaverVagy is one of the largest youth community in Hungary, and besides organizing various community programs charity and volunteering are the very important element of the organization. That’s why we at the Zsidai Group are happy to work with them, and for the seventh time this year, we’re partnering with their charity auction.

Budavár Bach FeStival

The Zsidai family is a dedicated supporter of cultural life in the Buda Castle district. One of the events they proudly support each year is the Budavári Bach Festival, held every autumn in the Budavár Lutheran Church.

Ukranian Aid

In the spring of 2022, following the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, our group supported Ukrainian refugees arriving in Budapest by providing hot meals and cold food packages through the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.

SUSTAINABILITY

For us, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s a mindset. Our goal is to minimize our ecological footprint in every aspect of our operations, always planning with responsibility and long-term impact in mind.

Eco-conscious operations: In our restaurants and hotels, environmental protection and reducing pollution are part of our daily practice.

Local, seasonal ingredients: We work exclusively with Hungarian suppliers, prioritizing locally sourced, sustainable products.

Waste reduction & recycling: We minimize single-use plastics, collect waste selectively, and participate in return and reuse programs.

Energy & water efficiency: From induction cooktops to heat recovery systems and water-saving equipment—our operations are designed for efficiency.

Smart water use: We train our staff to use water responsibly and avoid unnecessary waste.

Team-wide awareness: Sustainability is a shared effort—our colleagues are empowered to take action and improve processes.

Green role models: One of our cherished traditions is planting trees in the Buda Castle district for birthdays, helping to keep the city green.
