For us it's Spíler Buda.
We already had the location, MOM Park built the formerly vacant plaza at Csörsz street for 2018, but the concept wasn't crystal clear to us at the time.
One evening in the summer of 2018, Roy sat out on the terrace with a bottle of wine, put on his favourite playlist, listened to the music and just thought. He was - as always - diligently taking notes.
There are many things that can inspire a restaurant concept, but at Spíler Buda, music was clearly the main driver. Rock 'n roll and dynamic, all-captivating music.
"Keep on rockin me, baby!"
To this day, Spíler Buda is still considered the "most put-together" restaurant in the world. Everything is here: the concept, the cuisine, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the music and the lights..
"If I had to put what's happening now into a story, I would say that we are seeing a new face of the Spíler. Having had many adventures from downtown Pest to Shanghai, and having spent enough time as an established rock star in his beach club in Marbella, he's decided to take things a little more seriously and it's time to sit down and talk to friends about the big things in the world. So we need a place where a rock star this cool can find a home." - Roy summed up how and why Spíler ended up on the Buda side.
The restaurant finally opened on 14 December 2018, with a rock-themed party in style. And we're sure if Lana del Rey and Mick Jagger were to meet, Spíler Buda would be their choice.
