40 YEARS, 40 STORIES | ÉS DELI

Good coffee requires two things: a good coffee blend and a good machine to brew it in.

It's debatable, but we think Budapest is the capital of cafés.

Roy's fascination with coffee began in London years before the 'coffee revolution' at home. Here he encountered first the specialty coffee movement, the wide range of high quality coffees available and the different experience of drinking a special selection of coffee.

The lobby of Kempinski hotel was completely renovated in the spring of 2013, with the addition of a space of just a few square metres, just the right size for a coffee shop.

Specialty coffee* was a relatively new participant in the gastronomy market at the time.

Only a few pioneers were involved when Roy decided he wanted his own brand and to bring the most professional machines to Zsidai restaurants to make the restaurant experience a perfect coffee experience.

Good coffee requires two things: a good coffee blend and a good machine to brew it in. The machine became La Marzocco, and in creating his own coffee Roy approached Máté Nezvál, who just opened his own roastery in Budafok.

Máté, as he should, climbed every step of the coffee ladder, with the difference that he took the steps with more fervour, and the momentum carried him all the way to Dubai and the Dallmayr representation there. Endless tons of coffee flowed through his hands. After Dallmayr and the Middle East, he came back and started his own business to introduce good coffee to Hungarians.

Coffee alone would not have been enough at the Kempinski Café, freshly made sandwiches, crisp pastries, freshly pressed vegetable and fruit juices complete the offer.
